Here at Inflation Data, we have several Inflation Calculators you can use depending on exactly what you are trying to do.
Cumulative Inflation Calculator![]() |
The calculates total cumulative inflation in percent between exact months and years since 1913.
Other calculators may not request a month and instead use an average for the year, which would produce similar results to choosing June or July as your month, but in many instances, the result would be less accurate. This inflation calculator uses months and years; it not only gives the total cumulative inflation over that time period, but also the inflation-adjusted price of your starting value. |
Historical Calculator![]() |
Our “Steampunk” Historical Inflation Calculator is a fun way to calculate inflation for very long periods (i.e., since 1774). Since data prior to 1913 doesn’t include monthly data, you can only enter a year into this calculator. If you want a fun calculator to give you an annual estimate of inflation back to the time of Washington and Jefferson, this “SteamPunk Style” Calculator is the calculator for you. |
After Inflation Calculator ![]() |
The How Much Would it Cost after Inflation Calculator is three calculators in one. If you know the cumulative inflation over a certain period, say 47% over 6 years, it will tell you how much a $13.97 item would cost after those 6 years. If you don’t know the Cumulative Inflation but know the average inflation (or want to estimate how much something would cost in the future with an estimated inflation rate) you can use this calculator. And finally, the third calculator will do the reverse and estimate how much something would have cost in the past with an estimated annual inflation. |
